Register for a Library Card

An eCard is a CLAMS library card that you can register for online to access electronic materials, such as ebooks, audiobooks, magazines, and databases.

The eCard is for patrons who do not already have a CLAMS library card and may be upgraded to a physical library card with borrowing privileges by visiting your local CLAMS library. You are eligible to apply for an eCard, if you live in a Massachusetts town and do not currently have a library card from a CLAMS member library.

Contact your local library if you are not eligible to register online or to renew an expired card.

Complete the form below to get a temporary six-month CLAMS eCard.

Your temporary eCard allows you to:

  • Login to your account.
  • Use State-provided online research databases (within Massachusetts only).
  • Access our online collection of OverDrive ebooks, audiobooks, and magazines.
  • Place up to 5 requests on print Books, DVDs, CDs, etc. in the CLAMS Catalog.

Already have a CLAMS card? Contact any local CLAMS library for assistance with your account.

If you are under 13, please do not use this form unless you have your parent or legal guardian's consent to access digital library materials.

Online registration and temporary eCards are available to Massachusetts residents only.
